finally colored one of my maaaaany sketches xD didn't have time to shade cause had to finish before the deadline for mcsheplets challenge... shouldn't take any around my mum's visits lol xDDD almost forgot about it xD

John wakes up in the middle of a night and gets jealous cause Rodney is dreaming about a Z(ed)PM instead of him

John woke to a sudden noise, only to realize it was Rodney talking, still fast asleep in the sleeping bag beside him. He lay still and listened for a moment, just enjoying the sound of Rodney's voice, when he caught the words, "Oh, you beautiful thing... power all kinds of..."

Rodney was dreaming about a ZPM, and didn't that just figure? They had finally gotten some time to themselves, a camping trip to the New Athosian settlement with enough home-cooked food to make it worth sleeping in tents, and Rodney couldn't even dream about John?

He propped himself on one elbow to look at Rodney, a frown forming on his face. He was much better than a ZPM... wasn't he?

His frown deepening, John reached out and poked Rodney, hard, in the shoulder.

"What?" Rodney cried, flailing a little in the confines of the sleeping bag. "Sheppard, what?"

"I didn't do anything," John lied stubbornly.

"What are you even doing awake?" continued Rodney. "You know Teyla's going to drag us out of bed at some ungodly hour for that ceremony thing tomorrow, so you'd better get some rest."

"I was trying to, until somebody started talking in their sleep."

"Did I?" Rodney asked, softly. "Sorry. I don't usually, but sometimes, when I'm a little stressed--"

"Yeah, I know," said John, his expression softening. It had been a pretty stressful week, with weird power issues Rodney had only just gotten sorted out the day before. "Maybe you'd sleep better if I went--"

"You are not stupid enough to finish that sentence," snapped Rodney. "I sleep better when I'm with you, idiot. Come here."

Without waiting for John to move, Rodney arranged them both back into the sleeping bag, all tangled up together.

John pressed his nose against Rodney's collarbone-- he'd just have to give Rodney something else to dream about.
